The BT-100U cash drawer trigger is designed to provide a USB interface for cash drawers. This allows cash drawers, previously connected to POS printers or cash registers, to connect directly to a USB port on a computer. Through the USB trigger, the cash drawer can be connected directly to the computer when no printer is used in the POS system. The BT-100U USB trigger module utilizes a virtual serial port driver, making it appear as a standard serial RS232 port to software. This enables existing POS software to communicate with the USB cash drawer trigger as if it were connected to a serial port. Each USB trigger module is assigned a unique serial number, and the driver software assigns the next available serial port to each recognized device (multiple triggers can be used on one computer).
