These anode rods outperform aluminum ones in protecting your water heater tank from corrosion, thus extending its lifespan. They prolong the life of a water heater by attracting corrosive elements in the water. If the anode rod is completely consumed and degraded, the water heater will start to rust, leading to cracks, failures, and leaks. These magnesium anode rods measure 4.5 inches long (115mm), with a diameter of 0.5 inches (13mm) and feature 1/2 inch threads, suitable for specific brands. Unscrew the anode rod to drain the tank.
