1. Recording REC means that pressing and holding the REC button causes the LED to light up. At this point, when you speak into the MIC, the content will be recorded into the ISD1700 voice chip. After recording a paragraph, the LED will turn off automatically. Pressing again starts recording the next segment, with subsequent segments recorded in sequence.2. Press the playback PLAY button to play back recordings. There are two trigger modes: edge trigger and level trigger. (Note: After recording, the playback pointer remains at the start address of the last recorded segment; playback will begin from this segment.) (1) Edge trigger: Click the PLAY button once to play the current segment. The LED flashes during playback and stops flashing when playback ends. After playback completes, the pointer returns to the start of the played segment. Press PLAY again to replay the same segment. (2) Level trigger: Press and hold the PLAY button to continuously play all recorded messages in a loop until the button is released.3. Fast forward FWD operation: Before playback, press the FWD button to move the playback pointer to the next segment. Each press advances the pointer by one segment. During playback, pressing FWD stops the current segment and starts playing the next one. If the last segment is playing, pressing FWD will stop playback and return to the first segment.4. ERASE button operation: Single-segment erase is only valid for the first or last recorded segment. When the playback pointer is on the first or last segment, pressing the ERASE button deletes that segment. The playback pointer then moves to the second or second-to-last segment. Press and hold the ERASE button for more than 3 seconds to enter "all erase mode"the LED flashes twice. Continue holding; the LED flashes 7 times and then turns off. Release the button to completely erase all voice data from the chip.5. RESET button operation: Pressing RESET initializes the system. After reset, both playback and recording pointers default to the last recorded segmentthe playback pointer points to the beginning of the last segment, and the recording pointer points to the end. Playback begins from the last segment, and new recordings start immediately after the last one.6. Volume control VOL: Press the button to adjust output volume. Default output level is maximum. Each press reduces volume by 4dB until minimum is reached; further presses increase volume by 4dB per click. After reset, volume returns to maximum level.7. FT pass-through mode: Connect the FT pin to GND to enable pass-through mode. In this mode, audio input from the Analn terminal is routed directly to the speaker or AUD output.
