It does not cause burns. All AIREX® mats are one of the best for a truly healthy workout. We recommend: Before first use, wash the exercise mat with a mild detergent or biodegradable soap. Wipe gently with a cloth. Do not use common cleaners or spray oils that are designed for yoga mats to avoid slipping or marring the surface. Store the mat wrapped with the printed side facing out, and store it in a cool, dry place when not in use for a long period of time. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight.
