Description

Artfully stylized raven with matching black and silver basket chain made of 925 sterling silver. The elegant necklace is about 1.5 mm thick and partially oxidized. We have three different lengths on offer: 45 cm, 55 cm and 65 cm. The bird resembles an elaborately decorated shield. The necklace pendant is partially blackened on the front so that the decorations come into their own. The back is polished to a smooth finish. The eyelet is located on the back of the head. Dimensions: approx. 50 mm high x approx. 18 mm The eyelet is curved: approx. 4 mm high x approx. 3 mm wide Weight: approx. 6.4 g Background: According to Norse mythology, Odin, the father of the gods, had two ravens, Hugin and Munin. He sent them out every day to reconnoitre so that they could tell him everything that was going on on earth. The raven was therefore considered a symbol of knowledge. He was also known as the Beast of the Battlefield.
